It sounds like there’ll be a bit of that with them getting PTSD but I’d like to see friendship and relationship options, like Fire Emblem, to be possible so that they feel as bad as me when one of them gets killed. If I had a wish it would be that they got more into the personalities of the soldiers too. I do like what I hear though, with the Lovecraftian storyline, the mutating of aliens and humans, and the increased destruction and use of vehicles. Not that anything is truly perfect, of course, because if it was I wouldn’t be looking forward to Phoenix Point. After that they appear in the Modlauncher, where you have to activate them (simply klick the box right next to it). 50 of my Mods are downloaded from Steam-Workshop. I use 'XCOM2AlternativeModLauncher1.4.1' to manage my mods and start the game. So while it’s better it’s also somehow less perfect, if that makes sense. I play XCom2 WOTC at the moment as well (again). I love it, because I love XCOM, but it does kind of lose the elegance of design that the base game has. I’m kind of torn on this though, as while War Of The Chosen is excellent it can get very complicated with its extra rules and conditions. 3.The only thing that might possibly be better is XCOM 2 with the War Of The Chosen DLC added on.
Randomized levels and the chance of upgrading your units keep tempting us back for one more round. As the Blitzkrieg, you might use your Hook Mech to move enemies into a line, then strike with your Lightning Mech to send a pulse of electricity through them all, for example. Your three units have their own skills, and you must work out how to apply them to the situation at hand. The Blitzkrieg are lightning specialists, the Frozen Titans use ice, the Steel Judoka use raw physical strength. You take control of one of eight mech squads, which you unlock sequentially, each with its own specialty. It’s your job to slot those puzzle pieces into place, and decide how you can wipe out as many of them as possible in one turn. Your alien enemies - usually giant insects - always telegraph their next move, whether that’s moving one square, attacking a skyscraper, or spitting bile in your direction. Okay, it’s not actually chess, but Into the Breach’s rules feel equally as simple and elegant. It’s chess, but with rocket launchers and mechs instead of knights and bishops.
